Fire on oil tanker in Patenga kills 1

An oil tanker caught fire in Patenga, Chattogram. In this, one was reported killed and three others were injured.

The incident took place at Ghat No. 9 of Karnaphuli River on Thursday morning.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately known. The injured are – Sufian, Sahab Uddin, and Munir.

It is known that they used to work in that tanker. The injured were rescued and admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Newton Das, deputy assistant director of the Chattogram Fire Service, said three units of the fire service arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

ASI Alauddin Talukder of CMCH Hospital police outpost said the three burnt workers were brought to the hospital around 9:00 am. They are admitted to the burn unit of the hospital.
