At least 37 people were killed in a fire that ravaged a shopping mall in the Philippines, most of them workers at a call center, city government officials said on Sunday.

The chance of survival for any of the 37 people missing at the NCC Mall was “zero”, said the vice mayor of the southern city of Davao, Paolo Duterte.

Paolo Duterte, the eldest son of Philippines` President Rodrigo Duterte said, “Let us pray for them.’

A spokeswoman for the city government said, the fire broke out at a furniture store on the mall’s third level and quickly engulfed an outsourcing business on the upper floor.

She said, the cause of the fire was not immediately known but an investigation was being launched.

President Duterte and his daughter Sara Duterte, who is mayor of the city, meet the families of the missing and survivors at the scene.
