Fire in Banani’s 6-storey building, 14 firefighting units working

A fire broke out at a six-storey building in the Chairman Baria area in the capital's Banani on Saturday. Some 14 units of fire service are working to control the blaze. 

The fire originated on the third floor of the building, where Ananda TV's office is located, around 9:10 am on Saturday (August 21). However, the cause of the fire could not be immediately known. 

Confirming the matter, Fire Service duty officer Enamul Haque said a fire broke out at a carton godown in Banani Chairman Bari area at 9:10 am. On information, 14 units of fire service rushed to the spot and are now working to extinguish the fire. 

Ziaur Rahman, the operator in charge of the fire brigade's control room, said, “Ananda TV's office is on the second floor of the building. Different types of crests are made on the third floor, where the fire originated. ”
