Fire hits cotton warehouse in Gazipur

A fire has broken out in cotton warehouse of Viyellatex Group in Tepirbari area of Sreepur in Gazipur. Seven units of the fire service are working to control the fire.
The fire broke out around 1.30 pm on Friday. Three people were injured in the incident. The injured are Farooq, a BBS cable worker and two security guards at the factory.
Factory manager Sarwar Hossain said the Sreepur Fire Service was informed when they saw smoke in the cotton warehouse of the factory at around 1pm. At first, the Sreepur Fire Service joined in the fire control. Later, personnel of seven units of Bhaluka Fire Station in Joydebpur and Mymensingh started working to control the fire. He could not immediately say the cause of the fire.
Gazipur Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Md. Mamunur Rashid said a fire broke out in a cotton warehouse of Viyellatex factory in Tepirbari area of Sreepur upazila at around 1.30pm. At that moment, the flames of the fire spread all over the warehouse. Workers of seven units from Fire Stations of Sreepur, Joydebpur and Bhaluka of Mymensingh are working to control the fire.
