Fire at United Hospital: 5 COVID-19 patients die

At least 5 patients were killed in a fire incident at the coronavirus isolation unit of United Hospital at Gulshan-2 in the capital on Wednesday night.
Kamrul Islam, duty officer at the Fire Service headquarters, confirmed the matter. He said one of the five people who died in the blaze was a woman and the other four were male patients. However, no injury has been reported yet.
Fire Service said the fire burnt the extension part beside the emergency unit which was used as the Corona Unit of the hospital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Gulshan Zone Assistant Commissioner Rafiqul Islam said, "We have received information about five deaths. They were infected with coronavirus."
Earlier, the fire broke out at 9:55 pm on Wednesday. Firefighters brought the fire under control at around 10:20 pm.
