Fire at Mymensingh power grid again, electricity supply disrupted

A fire broke out again at Mymensingh city's Kewatkhali Power Grid on Thursday morning, that left the entire Mymensingh division out of electricity.
On information, two firefighters units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after an hour of frantic effort.
Earlier on Tuesday, a fire broke out in the 132/33 kilovolt substation. The fire originated in the substation from a short circuit and later the fire spread to a transformer. About 25 lakh consumers in Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrokona faced power cuts immediately after the fire.
The Power Development Board (PDB) has formed two investigation committee in this connection. The committees have been asked to submit reports within three days. However, another fire broke out within a day.
