Fire at Kewatkhali grid: Power supply resume after 6hrs

The power outage in the Mymensingh division has resumed after seven hours due to the fire broke out at 132/33 KV power grid substation at Kewatkhali in Mymensingh. The power supply in the entire district became normal around 8:30 pm on Tuesday.
Confirming the information, PDB Mymensingh region chief engineer Md. Rafiqul Islam said engineers and workers worked to remove the burnt transformer and turn on the electricity immediately after extinguishing the fire.
The power supply was restored in Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrokona around 5:45 pm, in different upazilas of Mymensingh around 6:00 pm and in the city around 8:30 pm, he added.
Earlier, a fire broke out at around 12:45 pm. Two units of the fire service doused the fire after about an hour trying. The incident cut off the power supply in Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrokona districts.
