Film artist Farooque nominated from Dhaka-17

Finally, film artist Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque has nominated from ruling Awami League in Dhaka-17 constituency.

His nomination was confirmed on Friday by the party. Farooque himself confirmed this information to Daily Bangladesh.  

Gulshan, Banani, Dhaka Cantonment and Vasantek areas are the parts of Dhaka-17 constitutes.    

Farooque is very excited as he gets the party nomination. He told Daily Bangladesh, “On Friday morning, Mr Nanok and Obaidul Quader (general secretary of Awami League) confirmed me about Dhaka-17 seats. They told me to collect the nomination letter from party office.”

He also said, “To fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream by making Sonar Bangla, I want to work with our leader Sheikh Hasina in the coming days. I want to win the election and reward her confidence through work.”

Farooque said, “According to the rules of the election, after December 9, we will go to the campaign. Inshallah, I will pass. People love me, People love Awami League, people love development. So there is no scope to disagree here. People will vote me to continue the development work of Sheikh Hasina.”

Earlier, Farooque wanted the Awami League nomination from Gazipur-5 (Kaliganj) seat. But he nominated for Dhaka-17 seat.  

In the 2008 elections, Hussain Muhammad Ershad won the seat. In addition, SM Abul Kalam Azad of the Bangladesh Nationalist Front won the seat in 2014 election.
