Feni district police traffic inspector Safiul Azam Safiq
Police have recovered the body of Feni district police traffic inspector Safiul Azam Safiq. The body was recovered from Ashik Manzil at Chowdhury Para of Madhyam Charipur area of the city on Monday afternoon.
According to police, traffic inspector Safiul Azam used to live alone in the house. His family lives in Dhaka. Safiul Azam returned to his rented house from his workplace last Friday night. No trace of him has been found since then. At one point, when the stench came out on Monday afternoon from his flat, the owner of the house, Monir Ahmed informed the police after found his door locked.
Upon receiving the news, the police broke down the door of the house and recovered the body and sent it to Feni General Hospital morgue. Meanwhile, several teams of law enforcement agencies including police, RAB, CID, PBI have visited the spot.
Feni Additional SP Mainul Islam said it was initially thought he might die of heart disease. However, the issue is being widely scrutinized. Safiul Azam is the native of Tangail district.
