Female lawyer killed at father’s house

A female lawyer was murdered at her father’s house in Moulvibazar on Sunday night. 

The lawyer’s name Abida Sultana, a member of the Judge Court Advocate Association of Maulvibazar and younger daughter of Abdul Kaiyum of Madhabgul (Kathaltoli) village. 

“On emergency call around 8:00 am on Sunday, Abida went to her father’s house from Beanibazar’s sister house. Later at 4:00 pm, Abida’s sister tried to contact her on phone, but could not get her,” said Md Yeasinul Haque, officer-in-charge (OC) of Borolekha Police Station.   

“Later, Abida’s sisters came to father’s house to find her. During that, they did find anybody at home. At that time, they suspected a room that was locked from outside. Later, they called the police and saw the body of their sister lying on the floor,” he also said. 

“A family of tenants also live on beside of this house. But since the incident, a person in the family is missing,” OC Yeasinul Haque further said adding, “Police are trying to find the clue behind the incident.”

Police recovered Abida’s body from the house on Sunday night. There are stabbing marks in various parts of the body have seen.

The body was sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Monday morning.
