Female UP member occupied farmer’s land

A female UP member has been accused of planting garlic on farmer’s land by cutting paddy in Nartore’s Gurudaspur.
The accused — Rahima Begum, a UP member of Chapila UP’s ward no 4, 5 and 6 and a resident of Bripathuria village of the upazila.
I have been farming the land in Khamarpathuria village for 30 years. But for the last one year, Md Falu Sheikh, father-in-law of Rahima Begum, started farming on the land, said the victim farmer Md Khalil Sheikh.
Despite the case in the High Court, Falu Sheikh and his associates occupied our land under the direction of Rahima Begum, he also said adding, “Threatening to kill if protests, Seven people including Falu Sheikh have been sued. That case is still ongoing.”
Accused female UP member Rahima Begum said, “My father-in-law Md Falu Sheikh is the real owner of the land. The opposition has been farming the land for 30 years. We have been farming for one year.”
The Assistant Commissioner (Land) has been called to investigate the incident by visiting the scene and asked for taking action, said UNO Md Tomal Hossain.
