Father thrown out of moving bus, daughter killed

A woman was kidnapped and killed allegedly by the bus driver and his associates on Friday at Ashulia. Police recovered her body from Maragang area on Abdullahpur-Bypile highway at around 11:00 pm.

The deceased was identified as Zarina Khatun, 45, daughter of Akter Ali, a resident of Chauhali area of Shirajganj district.

Police said that Zarina Khatun along with her father came to visit her daughter’s home at Gazirchat area of Ashulia. On Friday, they were returning Zarina's husband home in Tangail. They locked into an altercation with bus driver and helper.

At one stage, bus driver's associates beaten Zarina and her father Akbar Ali and then thrown Akbar Ali of the moving bus under Ashulia bridge.

Later, Akbar Ali informed the police, who found the body of Zarina at Maragang area on Abdullahpur-Bypile highway.

Ashulia Police Station officer-in-charge Zabed Masud said, “Zarina’s body taken to police station. Her husband filed a case in this regard. We are trying to arrest the bus driver and helper.”
