Jamalpur-2 seat (Islampur) MP Faridul Haque Khan took oath as the state minister for religious affairs at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban this evening.

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam conducted the oath-taking ceremony. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and Information Minister Hasan Mahmud were present on the occasion.

The post of state minister for religious affairs became vacant following the death of state minister for religious affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on June 13, 2020.

Faridul Haque Khan Dulal, 64, is representing Jamalpur-2 (Islampur) in Parliament for the third time.

He is the president of Islampur Upazila Awami League. Prior to that, he was the General Secretary for 11 years of the upazila. 

Faridul Haque Khan Dulal was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs of the 10th National Assembly. He also served as the chairman of Islampur Upazila Parishad.

He has made many developments works in the constituency. His notable development works are Jamuna river bank conservation, construction of two bridges over the Brahmaputra River, Sheikh Hasina Institute of Health Technology, roads construction in remote char areas. He also constructed many mosques, temples, madrasas, orphanages, cemeteries and educational institutions.

Md. Faridul Haque Khan Dulal was born on 2 January 1956 at North Sirajabad village in Islampur upazila. He is the eldest of six sons and two daughters of Habibur Rahman Khan and Mosammat Fatema Khanam.

After taking oath as state minister for religious affairs, Faridul Haque Khan Dulal told Daily Bangladesh that he would like to take Bangladesh forward for corruption-free development by fulfilling the responsibilities given by the Honorable Prime Minister with sincerity and honesty. I want everyone's prayers and cooperation for this.

On Monday, social media as well as several news outlets reported that Faridul Haque Khan Dulal is going to take charge of the state minister for religious affairs. From then on, people of different classes and professions of Islampur greeted him.
