Fakir Alamgir laid to rest

Fakir Alamgir, legendary folk musician and Bir Freedom Fighter, has been buried with state honors at Khilgaon Taltola Cemetery in the capital.
His burial was completed at 1:50 pm on Saturday (July 24) following the hygiene rules of Covid-19 after his second Namaz-e-Janaza at the Khilgaon Matir Mosque in the capital.
Fakir Alamgir’s son Mashuk Alamgir Rajib confirmed the matter.
Earlier, Fakir Alamgir’s first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the Pallima Sangsad premises in the capital’s Khilgaon at 11:16 am on Saturday and the Bir Freedom Fighter was given a state guard of honor. Fakir Alamgir’s body was then taken to the central Shaheed Minar to pay homage to people from all walks of life.
Fakir Alamgir, who was infected with coronavirus, breathed his last at 10:56 pm on Friday while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital. Fakir Alamgir was 71 years old at the time of his death.
