Facebook said it will increase security by listening to experiences of young girls considering sexual harassment on women as a serious problem on the internet.

The world's most popular social media company said this on the occasion of 'International Girl's Day' on Sunday.

According to Facebook, the authorities will listen to the experiences of young social workers through several sessions. The discussion will help to detect and solve security problems.

Cindy Southworth, head of Facebook's women's protection division, said: "We always value the direct discussion of girls. Because harassment of women on the internet is a serious problem. In the meantime, we have taken many steps."

The issue of girls' safety is always discussed on Facebook.

A Plan International survey said about 58 percent of young women become harassment on Facebook. About 14,000 young girls from 22 countries took part in the survey.

Harassment and intimidation online have a huge negative impact. Because it can quickly reach many and exist indefinitely.

According to UNICEF, students online are more likely to be intimidated than other students. They are also more likely to be addicted to alcohol and drugs and drop out of school. There is also a risk of poor test results, low self-respect and health problems. Showing intimidation online in extreme situations can also push someone to suicide.
