Extreme condition of Liakatganj-Chakbazar road

Thousands of people of three UP’s -- Rangarchar, Laxmipur and Bogla, are being subjected to extreme disaster in the road of Liakatganj-Chakbazar under Doarabazar upazila of Sunamganj.

Because of not renovated the road for almost 15 years, many vehicles have suffered severely due to the formation of small and big large holes in the road.

Every day thousands of people from Rangachar UP’s Sadar Upazila and Dowarabazar Upazila’s Laxmipur and Bogla Ups’ are moved on the Laxmipur’s Liakatganj-Chakbazar road of Sunamganj district. They travel every day with motorcycles, CNG, autorickshaw, and many other vehicles on this road.

The road had constructed almost 15 years ago and since then, the renovation work was not done. As a result, there are small holes have been created in more than one place. Various vehicles are carrying with risks.

Jasim Uddin of Surigaon village said, “The environment of the house, including the area's environment, was destroyed due to the movement of the vehicle with fly dust and sand. Many people are getting infected with cold fever and allergies due to dust and sand.”

Laxmipur UPs' 6No Ward member Md Abdul Hai said, “The road has not been renovated for after 15 years. Due to this, the potholes created in different places of the road.”

Laxmipur UP chairman Amirul Haque said, “The extreme condition of the road of Liakatganj Bazar from Laxmipur UP and Chakbazar has been prevailing. This road is an easy way to go to Sunamganj city. If the road is renovated, people's sufferings will be reduced.”

Liakatganj-Chakbazar road is the important road for the movement of thousands of people of 3 UPs, said Harjeet Sarker, engineer of Doverbazar Upazila Upazila. “There was no allocation for renovating the Liakatganj-Chakbazar road. If the money is allocated, then the renovation work will be done.”
