Advocate Mahbubur Rahman, the former minister and Supreme Court lawyer, has passed away (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un)
He breathed his last at 5:25 am on Saturday, confirmed Supreme Court spokesman Mohammad Saifur Rahman.
He said the Namaz-e-Janaza of Advocate Mahbubur Rahman will be held at Baridhara Mosque in the capital after Asr prayer. He will later be buried at Banani Cemetery.
Mahbubur Rahman, father of Justice Farah Mahbub of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, was the Religious Affairs Minister in 1984 and Education Minister in 1986 during the Ershad government. He was later the MP of the Noakhali-3 constituency (Chatkhil) in the 8th parliamentary election.
Mahbubur Rahman joined the High Court on 12 December 1972 as a lawyer.
