Veteran Liberation War organizer and former Deputy Minister of Health and Family Welfare advocate Humayun Kabir died at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital at 9.30am on Sunday. He was 68 years old.

Humayun Kabir was MP elected from Brahmanbaria-3 constituency for two terms and two-time chairman of Brahmanbaria municipality and general secretary of the district Awami League.

He leaves behind a wife, two sons, and a daughter. His wife, Nayar Kabir, is the mayor of Brahmanbaria municipality.

Lokman Hossain, the vice-chairman of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Parishad, said that Humayun Kabir underwent a massive heart attack at his home in the Pikepara area of ​​the district at around 8:30 pm. Later, he was taken to the District Sadar Hospital and the doctor declared him dead.

He will be buried at the family cemetery in the Pairtala area of ​​the municipality after the Baad (post) Zuhar Namaz-E Janaza on Monday.
