Students and parents are happy with the announcement of the online admission date of class XI for the 2020-21 session. Even though Education Board officials are busy with the admission process, they are also breathing a sigh of relief. However, Educationalists suggested starting classes sometime after the admission process to avoid coronavirus infection.

Tanvir, who passed SSC from Udayan School, feared that this year would be a 'loss' due to Corona. However, he is happy with the announcement of the admission process in Class-XI. The science department student expressed hope that classes will start soon.

Tanvir said, "At first I thought I would not be admitted in class-XI this year. The situation seemed like that. I am happy that the board has decided to start the admission process. Now there will be at least one identity and so studies."

Dhaka Board of Education Chairman Ziaul Haque said, "We were already busy to start the admission process. It takes time a little bite to do the whole process online. Classes can also be started if the admission process is completed well. However, it has not been decided yet how the class will start."

Meanwhile, according to this year's admission rules, the application cannot be made through SMS. Applicants will be able to apply online for a minimum of 5 to a maximum 10 colleges or equivalent educational institutions. No separate test is required for admission, the admission process will be made considering the results.

The entire admission process will be controlled by the Bangladesh University of Engineering. They will be assisted by Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Application for admission in class XI will start from August 9 and will continue till September 15. This time there will be no quota other than 5 percent freedom fighter quota in class XI admission. However, special arrangements have been made for students with disabilities, BKSPs, students with outstanding achievements at the national level in sports and cultural activities. For this, they have to go to the board office and apply.

This time there are 22 to 23 lakh seats available for admission across the country. However, a total of 16,90, 523 students have passed in the SSC and its equivalent examination. Of them, 1,35,898 obtained GPA-5. As a result, there will be no problem with the total number of seats at the higher secondary level. However, there will be competition to get admission in good colleges.

It is not yet certain that when the class will start in class XI. The inter-education board is also not in favor of starting classes at this time. Their goal is to complete the admission process. Classes will start as soon as the educational institution reopens.

Educationist Rasheda K Chowdhury said the decision to take admission is commendable, but starting classes now does not seem to be the right decision. We have to make a decision considering the coronavirus situation. How it possible to resume classes in this situation? Those concerned need to have a little more patience and move forward with the right plan.
