Jatiya Party chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad on Sunday mourned the causalities following a string of blasts ripped through three churches and three hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Day.

 In a message of condolence, Ershad, also the leader of the opposition in Jatiya Sangsad, offered deep condolences at the casualties of a number of people in the blasts, prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and wished early recovery of the injured people.

He also condemned this heinous act of terrorism and has urged the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka to take necessary steps to ensure the safety of the Bangladeshi people there. 

At least 185 people were killed and many others injured in Sri Lanka when a string of blasts ripped through high-end hotels and churches as worshippers attended Easter services.
