Erdogan to visit Bangladesh next year

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has agreed to come to Bangladesh to attend the Mujib Year celebrations if the coronavirus situation improves. Besides, the country's foreign minister is coming to Dhaka soon to inaugurate the Turkish embassy.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen came up with the information while receiving medical logistics of coronavirus from Turkey in the fourth phase at the state guest house Padma on Wednesday morning.
In the fourth phase, Bangladesh receives 10,000 N-95 masks, 10,000 gown, 10,000 cover, 20 ventilator, stand sets, and some other coronavirus logistics.
At the time, the foreign minister expressed hope that the development of trade relations between the two countries would increase to $2 billion.
Earlier, in September, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Turkish president had proposed allocating land for the construction of a modern hospital in Bangladesh with Turkish financial assistance. He also praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for providing shelter to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
