Electric trains in Narayanganj

The railway line will be constructed for the movement of electric trains from Narayanganj’s Nitaigonj to Panchabati via Signboard more and Chittagong Road.
The government has agreed to such a proposal for comfortable and safe travel.
Sources said that, a proposal on that issue has been approved at the meeting held in the conference room of the cabinet division in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
After the meeting, additional secretary of the cabinet division Mosammat Nasima Begum said “Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is a public transport system. Through this system that means by the electric train, passengers will be able to enter Dhaka from Narayanganj comfortably,” the sources also informed.
Nasima informed the proposal sent from the Local Government Division motioned that; the train will run on two routes. One will move from Narayanganj’s Nitaigonj, via Chasara, till the signboard will be available,while another from Chittagong Road to Panchabati. He could not unveil the budget behind the project.
She said that 388 cities in the world are running this system. Narayanganj’s project has been proposed to be implemented on the basis of G2G and PPP policy.
She also informed that, when the electric train starts, average one lakh and 20 thousand passengers will be able to travel on these routes every day.
