Election schedule contrary to constitution: Dr Kamal

The senior leader of the Jatiya Oikyafront and Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain said that the announcement of the eleventh election schedule is contrary to the constitution.

He said this over mobile phone regarding Jatiya Oikyafront gathering at the historic Madrasa ground in Rajshahi today. He did not participate in public meetings due to physical illness.

He said that the schedule has been announced promptly because the people of the country can not exercise franchises.

Krishak Sramik Janata League and Jatiya Oikkofornt leader Bangabir Kader Siddiqui said Bangladesh's politics means Khaleda Zia, So it is not possible to keep her in captivity.

He said, if his party come to power division between Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Ziaur Rahman will be removed. He said, I did not come to the BNP rally, I came to the rally of the Jatiya Oikkofornt.

Besides, the president of the National Socialist Party (JSD) ASM Abdur Rab said, "Give the Jatiya Oikkofornt a chance to participate in the elections. He also urged the government not to incite the people.

He said the schedule was announced in a hurry so that the Jatiya Oikkofornt could not run the polls. Ninety-nine percent of people of the country with Jatiya Oikkofornt. They have the opportunity to apply their franchise. Even if necessary, the rights of the people of the country will be returned for sake of life.

He said, if the schedule did not announce again, they will be stage long march to the Election Commission. Processions and public meetings will be held in each region of the country.

The founder of the Gonoshasthya Kendra and Jatiya Oikkofornt leader Dr Jafarullah said government's base has moved away. They are looking for a way to escape. No matter how many obstacles created by the government, they will be defeated by the vote revolution. People's victory is sure.

Nagorik Oikkofornt's convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, arresting Oikkofornt leaders and workers, unilateral election will not be allowed to cross the passage.

He said Oikkofront does not want foil the election. There will be no elections in the country unless the 7-point demands are accepted. He urged the government to stop vengeance and give a fair election.

Manna complained that the government lay a snare ‍so that Oikkofornt could not get involved in the elections. Manna also called for the rescheduled.

Gonoforam General Secretary Mustafa Mohsin Montu said, "If you do not want to push the country towards conflict, you will have to accept 7 points." He also urged the government to give fair elections under the neutral government.

The leader of Oikkofornt and Ganodal chairman ATM Golam Maula Chowdhury said, the movement for the ownership of the state has started under the leadership of Kamal Hossain, it will end with the ownership of the people. And to do so, the government will have to make acceptable elections under the neutral government.

He also said that fair and acceptable elections are not possible under this spineless commission. Therefore, the Election Commission will be reconstituted. He also demanded the announcement of the reschedule. During this time, Golam Maula demanded the release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The meeting was chaired by BNP chairperson's advisor and Rajshahi Division Coordinator Mizanur Rahman Minu. Ganoforam Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, BNP chairperson's advisor Amanullah Aman, BNP's Vice Chairman Barkatullah Buluja and local leaders were also present here.
