Elderly man strangled to death in Brahmanbaria

Another murder has taken place in Krishnanagar UP of Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria.
Opponents have been accused of strangling an old man to death for blocking cows on a dirt road in Gournagar village of the UP on Friday. Tension has arisen across the village over the incident. Police are on alert to keep the situation calm.
It is learned that there was a previous dispute between Farid Mia of Kausar Mollah Group and Hossain Mia of Zillur Rahman Chairman Group in Krishnanagar UP. On Friday, Hossain Mia and his sons strangled Farid Mia during an argument over taking a cow through a dirt road. Then he fell to the ground and fainted. When he was taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital, the doctor declared Farid Mia dead.
Nabinagar Police Station OC (Investigation) Ruhul Amin said that Farid Mia and Hossain Mia were neighbors. There was a dirt road in front of their house, which was damaged in the rain. Farid Mia was fixing the road. At that time Hossain Mia went through that road with five or six cows. The road was damaged again. For this reason, Farid Mia forbade him to take cows through that road. Due to this, at one stage of the argument, Hossain Mia, his two sons Masud and Shahin rushed and grabbed Farid Mia by the throat and he fainted. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
The OC (investigation) further said that there was tension between the two groups in Gaurnagar village over the incident. Police are on high alert in the village to control the situation.
