Eid-e-Miladunnabi gets state status

The Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, observance of the birth and death anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PUBH) which is commemorated in 12 Rabi’ al-awwal, has been given state status.
A gazette notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday signed by Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam.
It has been said that the national flag will be hoisted in all government and private buildings and office premises of Bangladesh on the day of Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi. Besides, national flags will be hoisted at foreign diplomatic missions and embassies.
It has also been mentioned in the notification that this instruction will be effective immediately.
It is to be mentioned that the day of birth and death anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PUBH) which is commemorated in 12 Rabi’ al-awwal is a holy day for Muslims. The day has been observed as the Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PUBH).
