The new-moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal month of Hijri 1441 was sighted in Bangladesh.

As a result, the Holy Rabiul Awal month will be counted from October 30 (Wednesday). As such, Eid e-Milad-un Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated on the 10th of November.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram on Tuesday evening. Religious Secretary and Vice-Chairman of the National Moon Sighting Committee Md Anishur Rahman presided over the meeting.

Waqf Administrator Md. Shahidul Islam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md. A. Hamid Zamdar, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information Mir Md. Nazrul Islam, Joint Secretary (Administration) of the Cabinet Division Md. Khalilur Rahman, Islamic Foundation Secretary Kazi Nurul Islam, Director of Bangladesh Television (Administration / Finance) Md. Zahirul Islam Mia, Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer Md. Jasim Uddin, ADC (general) of Dhaka district Md. Shahiduzzaman, Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Aerospace Research and Telecommunication Organization Shah Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department Md. Abdur Rahman, Assistant Professor of Dhaka Alia Madrasah Prof. Md. Harun-ur-Rashid, senior Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Hafez Mawlana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman were present at the meeting.
