Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has said that efforts are underway to bring vaccines from China and Russia as soon as possible.
He said this while talking to reporters at his office on Thursday.
The foreign minister said efforts are underway to bring vaccines from Russia. The chief secretary, health secretary, the foreign secretary met with Russian authorities today.
"I have had discussions with the Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi. He assured me that China's vaccine supply would continue. The rest is known to the Ministry of Health," Momen said.
Regarding the vaccination of expatriates, he said the government is considering whether those under the age of 40 who want to go abroad can be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Masud bin Momen said that we would hold talks with Russia as we did with China to get vaccines. We want to have the first virtual meeting with Russia this week to finish the whole process quickly.
