Edu institutions to remain closed till Eid holidays

All the educational institutions in the country may be closed till the Eid holidays to tackle the situation as the prevalence of coronavirus is increasing in the country. 

On Tuesday, Education Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain told the media that the decision will be taken considering the safety of students and teachers. 

“The educational institutions are closed under the public holiday till April 14. Prior to this, the decision will be taken by considering the overall situation," he also said. 

“We have already talked to the Ministry of Education about this," said Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Akram al-Hossain.

However, considering the current situation, there is less possibility to open schools, colleges, he told adding that “the decision will be made quickly.” 

Ramadan and Eid holiday will start on April 25. And there is also ten days' holiday of Easter Sunday and weekends. As a result, holidays of the educational institutes are being extended till Eid, according to Education Ministry sources. 

During the long holidays, the students' class on Sangsad TV will continue. The videos of sixth to tenth-grade classes will be uploaded to YouTube channels of ‘Kishore Batayon’ and ‘Amar GHore Amar School’. The students can exercise their studies from there. 

Meanwhile, the online classes ‘Ghore Boshe Sikhi’ (Learning from Home) of Directorate of Primary Education have been started from Tuesday on Sangsad TV.
