Closure of all educational institutions is likely to be extended by one more month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Akram-al-Hossain, senior secretary to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said that it would not be possible to reopen schools and colleges now considering the current situation. The ongoing holiday will be further extended.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will virtually hold a press conference at 12:00 pm on Thursday regarding the decision on the vacation of educational institutes.
Earlier on October 21, Dipu Moni hinted that educational institutions may not reopen in November this year.
All the educational institutions have remained suspended since March 17 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Besides, HSC and equivalent examinations have been cancelled that were scheduled to begin on April 1. The education ministry also scrapped the Primary Education Completion (PEC), Junior School Certificate (JSC) and JDC examinations.
