‘Edu institutions being considered to reopen to a limited extent’

Though the holiday has been extended due to COVID, it is being considered to reopen the educational institutions to a limited extent in compliance with the hygiene rules.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni disclosed the information at a virtual press conference around 12:00 pm on Thursday. 

The Education Minister said it has been decided to extend the holiday of the educational institution till November 14. Besides, it is being considered to reopen the educational institutions to a limited extent in compliance with the hygiene rules.

At this time, Dr. Dipu Moni announced to close the university and all kinds of educational institutions including the kindergarten school till November 14.

Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Md. Mahabub Hossain, Secretary of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Md. Aminul Islam Khan, Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Division, Professor Syed Golam Farooq, director general of Directorate Of Secondary and Higher Education and chairman of various education boards were attended the virtual press conference.

Earlier, the first COVID patient was identified in the country on March 8. The government then announced the closure of all educational institutions in the country from March 18 to curb the outbreak of the virus. The holiday was then extended till October 31 in phases.
