EC confiscated 16 Habiganj candidates

16 of 24 candidates from 10 political parties including independent candidates have lost their election security.  

Among them --- District Jatiya Party president Atikur Rahman Atik and general secretary Shankar Paul.

The candidates who lost their election security --- in Habiganj-1 seat, Jatiya Party’s (Plough) Atikur Rahman Atik, Bangladesh Somajtantrik Dol BSD’s (Ladder) Chowdhury Foysal Shoaib, Krishak Sramik Janata League’s (Towel) Md Nurul Haque, Bangladesh Islami Front’s (Candle) Jobayer Ahmed, and Bangladesh Islami Andolan's (HatPakha) Abu Hanifa Ahmad Hossain.  

In Habiganj-2 seat, Jatiya Party’s (Plough) Shankar Paul, Independent candidate (Lion) Afsar Ahmad Rupok, Krishak Sramik Janata League’s (Towel) Monmohan Debnath, National Peoples Party NPP’s (Mango) Paresh Chandra Dash, Bangladesh Islami Andolon’s (HatPakha) Abul Masoud Hasan.  

In Habiganj-3 seat, Bangladesh Islami Andolan's (HatPakha) Mohib Uddin Ahmed Sohel, Communist Party of Bangladesh CPB’s (Kaste) Pijush Chakrabarty, Jatiya Party’s (Plough) Atikur Rahman Atik.  

In Habiganj-3 seat, Bangladesh Islami Andolon’s (HatPakha) Sheikh Shamsul Alam, Bangladesh Islami Front’s (Candle) Solaiman Khan Rabbani, and Bangladesh Jaker Party’s (Rose) Ansarul Haque.  

In spite of the law of the Election Commission (EC), if a candidate does not get one percent of the 8 percent of the total votes given, the election security of any candidate is forfeited.
