Dust disturbs normal lives in Sirajdikhan

Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj has become a state of dust which disturbing normal lives. The cropland of the upazila is being cut and carried openly by Mahendra. Besides, excavation work is going on everywhere. As a result, the upazila has become a place of dust. Huge dust is seen all 14 UP of the upazila.

Therefore thousands of people in the upazila are currently suffering from various complex diseases including respiratory problems, lung cancer, asthma, and tuberculosis. The amount of dust is higher due to changes in seasons. And very few people are using masks to protect themselves from this. And most of them are living their lives by fighting with the dust in their unconsciousness. As a result, they are suffering from various complex diseases like itching, asthma, and tuberculosis including breathing problems. 

Upazila hospital doctors said the entry of these dusts through the trachea can also lead to complex diseases such as lung cancer.

Residents of Baluchar, Latabdi, Basail Kain, Chitrakot, Rashunya, Boyragadi and Shekharnagar Unions of the upazila are suffering much due to dust. The traffic police are also not getting relief from this. Besides, houses, schools-colleges, madrasas-mosques, business establishments, tea shops, grocery shops, food hotels, public-private clinics, bank insurance, and other institutions are also covered in dust.

Shamsul Haque Hawlader, principal of Bikrampur KB Degree College, said that even if you cover your nose by hand, you can't get relief from dust. To get relief from the dust you have to be used musk all the time.

Grocer Akhter Hossain said that as soon as a car came to a stop on the road, dust came from behind and filled up. Within minutes the store turned white with dust. There is no one to control or watch these. In the end, mass people are suffering much.

Locals complained that most of the croplands in 14 UPs of the upazila were being cut and filled with sand to fill various ditches and lands. Due to the more than 700 illegal Mahendra are being used to carry the soil and sand, more dust and sand are flying in the air.
