Drug dealer killed in Cox’s Bazar gunfight with RAB

A drug dealer named Jahangir Alam was killed in a gunfight with RAB at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar. At the time, 10,000 yaba, arms and ammunition were seized from the spot.

The gunfight took place at Jaliapara in Ukhiya upazila around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. Details of Jahangir Alam were not immediately available.

“On a tip-off, RAB went to the spot and the drug dealers started shooting. A drug dealer named Jahangir was killed when RAB also fired back in self-defense,” confirmed Cox’s Bazar RAB-15 Captain Wing Commander Azim Ahmed, saying that a weapon, three rounds of ammunition and 10,000 yabas were seized from the spot. 

Legal action is being taken in this regard, he added.
