Driver of Haji Selim’s son granted one-day remand

A court has granted a one-day remand to Mizanur Rahman, the driver of Councilor Irfan Selim, son of Haji Selim in connection with the attack on a Navy officer and his wife at Kalabagan in the capital.
In the case of Dhanmondi Police Station, the investigating officer Ashfaq Rajib Hasan applied for a five-day remand for proper investigation and the court granted him a one-day remand.
A case was filed against six persons including Irfan Selim in the incident that took place in Kalabagan of the capital yesterday. Haji Selim’s son and councilor Irfan Selim and his bodyguard Zahid and driver Mizanur Rahman were arrested in the incident.
On Monday afternoon, RAB raided the residence of Haji Selim and Dhaka South City Ward 30 councilor Mohammad Irfan Selim at Devidas Ghat Lane in Chawkbazar and recovered a pistol, yaba and foreign liquor.
