Sabrina Sharmin Hussain, a doctor in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, has finally been suspended for alleged breach of discipline.
On Sunday, an official order has been issued in this regard signed by Abdul Mannan, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The office order says Sabrina Sharmin has been arrested on July 12, for allegedly working as a chairman of a non-government organization named JKG Healthcare while in government service, and her involvement in providing false reports of coronavirus tests and embezzling money simultaneously.
“Being a government official, holding the post of chairmanship of a private company without the permission of the government and embezzling money are punishable offenses under the Government Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 2018, so Dr. Sabrina Sharmin is suspended according to Government Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 2018 12 (1),” the office order says.
The office order also states that she will receive alimony as per the rules during the period of temporary dismissal.
Dr. Sabrina was in cheating behind her husband Arif Chowdhury, the CEO of JKG Health Care who was earlier arrested alleged preparing fake reports without any coronavirus test. More than 15,000 fake test reports were found on their laptop.
According to the police, 27,000 patients had received coronavirus test reports from JKG Healthcare
Of them, samples of 11,540 people were properly tested through IEDCR. The reports of the remaining 15,460 people were made on the company's laptop. Evidence of this has been found in the confiscated laptop. Arif Chowdhury told the police during interrogation that around seven JKG workers were involved in making those fake reports.
