Dr. Sabrina lands in jail after remand

The court on Monday has ordered to send Dr. Sabrina Chowdhury, chairman of JKG Healthcare, to jail after the two-point remand.
Police produced Sabrina before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in the afternoon. At the time, she was kept in the court jail.
Later, DB Police Inspector Liaquat Ali, investigating officer of the case, appealed to keep her in jail until the investigation of the case is completed. On the other hand, Dr. Sabrina’s lawyer appealed for bail.
After hearing both sides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam ordered to sent her jail.
Earlier on Friday, DB Police Inspector Liaquat Ali appealed for a five-day remand in the second phase of the fraud case lodged with the Tejgaon police station. On the other hand, the lawyer of the accused Saiful Islam appealed for bail seeking cancellation of the remand. Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman granted a two-day remand.
Police on July 13 sought a four-days remand for Dr. Sabirna to the court. Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman granted a three-day remand.
Sabrina was brought to the Tejgaon Divisional Sub-Police (DC) office on July 12 for questioning. After interrogation, police arrested her in a case filed by Tejgaon police station for providing fake coronavirus reports without sample test.
