In 2013, former minister Suranjit Sengupta inaugurated a Jagadal 20-bed modern hospital. But due to not necessary steps, the medical program has not started in six years. So people from 40 villages of two UPs have to rely on quack treatment.
Manu Mia, a member of Jagadal UP’s 6no ward, said that many people have no ability to go far for treatment. We also do not have a proper transport system. So, people rely on quack doctors. If the hospital starts, then 50,000 people will get better treatment.
Dirai Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Mahbubur Rahman said, “A contact has been made to senior officials to appoint adequate manpower in the Jagdal 20-bed hospital and start medical treatment.”
