Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni on Saturday said the situation has not yet been created to take the HSC and equivalent examinations.
“The exam will be taken in two weeks of preparations when the environments are getting favorable. The Ministry of Education is preparing for the exam,” she said while responding queries from reporters after a roundtable discussion at the National Museum in the capital.
The Education Minister said the situation has not yet come to take the HSC exam. No decision has been taken to postpone the exam. “We were ready to take the exam and we still are,” she said.
Dr. Dipu Moni said 14 lakh candidates will take part in HSC. About 20 to 25 lakh people including the people of the exam administration will be involved in this test. There will be people who will use public transport for movement. So, it is not possible to take such a huge health risk at the moment.
She added that as the rate of infection decreased, different countries of the world are reopening educational institutions. However, the result was not pleasant. They have been forced to shut down again due to infection. “We will not open educational institutions with such health risks,” said Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education had urged not to heed any rumors about HSC and equivalent examinations.
