Water logging on the road has created a miserable situation for the people in Dhamrai municipality area under Dhaka district.

Road from Thana-road via Taltala, Commissioner More to the Chhaibaria has been damaged. It has become difficult for people to walk in the footsteps while vehicle movement is totally impossible.

Local sources informed, that, due to innumerable small and big cavities on the road, accidents become an everyday affair in the area. It turns into more severe when rain waters floated over the road as it covers up all the road holes.

It is learnt that, for thousands of people of several localities of the town, it is the only way to connect schools, colleges, hospitals as well as the highway to the capital city and rest of the country. Although lots of accidents took place concerning the road, no step has been taken yet.

Rickshaw puller Anwar Hossein said, “I have been pulling Rickshaw in this locality for 15 years last while I have been seeing this road's such condition for 10 years at least. Who will repair it? The commissioners assured before the elections, but four years already have gone.”

Anwar also said, “All people have to move on the muddy road with passengers and goods. The entire road is covered with mud and waterlogging till knee.”  Besides, patients have to face difficulties to walk to the diabetic hospital, he added.

Regarding this issue, Dhamail Municipality ward No. 8 commissioner also the panel mayor, Shahidul Islam said, “Tender for the road is already done. Works will be started very soon.”

Meanwhile, the municipality’s ward No.7 Commissioner Abu Sayed said, “All are suffered for the road’s troublesome condition. The tender is done while works will be started within March.” He hopes that this will solve the water logging on the road very soon.
