Dhaka WASA producing 264cr liters of water in a day

Dhaka WASA Managing Director (MD) Taksim A Khan said Dhaka WASA produces 264 crore liters of water in 24 hours which is much higher than other countries in South Asia.
He said this while addressing the ‘Bill Collection Award 2019-2020’ organized at WASA Bhaban's Buriganga Hall in Karwan Bazar in the capital at 11:30 am on Saturday.
Taksim A Khan said, “47,000 people live in every square kilometer of Dhaka. We produce 264 crore liters of water every day. No other city in South Asia produces so much water.”
He said that the income and expenditure of water utilities, which is the best position in the world, is 65 percent. “We brought it to 62 percent a few days ago which is better than other countries in the world,” he added.
Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam, Dhaka WASA chairman Dr. Engineer Golam Mostafa, additional secretary of LGRD Division and member of WASA board Md. Ibrahim and others were present on the occasion.
