Dhaka South Jubo League distributes food to 400 families at Victoria Park on Thursday
Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League distributed foods and disinfectants among 400 low-income families at the Victoria Park in the capital due to coronavirus outbreak.
Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu, the organizing secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League, distributed food items to 100 rickshaw drivers and the poor at Victoria Park on Thursday. While another 300 families of ward no. 42, 43 and 44 given food and disinfectant supplements.
Foods include rice, lentil, potatoes, salt, onions and dried foods. Insect supplements include masks, hand gloves, hand sanitizer, hand wash and soap.
Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu told DailyBangladesh, "Due to coronavirus, the day labours are suffering much so we have distributed foods and disinfectants supplements to 400 families. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, this work will continue in the future.
He said that people from any part of Dhaka city will get this assistance. For humanitarian reasons, the rich should also extend their helping hand to low-income people.
