Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that development is now visible everywhere in the country and people are voting because the Sheikh Hasina government is working tirelessly for them.

He said the politics of the future will depend on development and prosperity. The people do not have confidence in the BNP's anti-politics. Therefore, BNP should leave the politics of propaganda and anti-politics and return to positive politics.

He said this while addressing Akkelpur Upazila Awami League conference in Joypurhat district through a video conference from his official residence on Thursday.

The Awami League general secretary also said that stern action would be taken against those involved in Companiganj incidents of Noakhali district.

Obaidul Quader said if anyone is involved in irregularities, corruption and anti-discipline activities, will not spare. The Anti-Corruption Commission and law enforcement agencies have been instructed in this regard.

He said those who sacrificed for the party would have to be evaluated in committee. They are the lifeblood of Awami League. He also urged the district and upazila leaders not to include the intruders in the committee.

Stating that the party president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina is in a very difficult position regarding the party discipline, the bridge minister said, if the party discipline is not followed, no matter how big the leader is, the party will not give him a concession. No program can be given by holding the people hostage. People are our strength. Our main goal is to serve them.

The Awami League general secretary said BNP is perfect to blame others for their failure. So they failed in the movement and made the people and the police stand as opponents. The BNP has become like a lost traveler after falling from the politics of continued failure and power.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said to the leaders and workers, there is no alternative to remain united. Forget the differences and make the team well organized and strong.

Akkelpur Upazila Awami President Moksed Ali Mandal presided over the programs. Awami League Organizing Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan, SM Kamal Hossain, Health Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, and other local MPs and district and upazila leaders also spoke on the occasion.
