He came up with the development while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled 'Role of Economic Reporters Forum in creating a fair competitive environment in the market through implementation of competition law' organized by Bangladesh Competition Commission on Sunday.
The Commerce Minister said Destiny and Jubok have a lot of resources. The price of assets has also increased a lot. Even if the resources are sold at a fair price, we could get back 50 to 60 percent of the money to the clients.
He said he had talked to law minister Anisul Haque about the matter. The law minister told me it was a matter for the court. Compensation may be given by associating with someone (organization). The law ministry is working on it.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the owners of Destiny and the Jubok have withheld at least Tk 7,000 crore from the customers.
