Dense fog disrupts ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia route

Due to heavy fog on the Paturia-Daulatdia waterway, ferry and launch operations have been suspended since last night. In addition, four ferries got stuck in the middle of the river.
This information was given by Abdullah Rony, Assistant Manager, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia Ghat Branch on Friday morning.
He said four to five ferries got stuck in the middle of the Padma at around 2:20 am due to the dim light of dense fog marking lights. To avoid the accident, the ferry service on the Paturia Daulatdia route has been suspended from 2:30 am.
