Dengue fever: 150 hospitalised in 24 hours

A total of, 150 patients were hospitalised with dengue in the previous 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). With the new cases, the total caseload stood at 19,694.

Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate of Health said this in a regular online bulletin on Friday.

In October, so far, 1497 people infected with dengue fever. Of them, four have died.

Of the new dengue patients, Dahaka alone saw 137 people being admitted to hospitals in 24 hours. The rest 13 are from outside Dhaka. 

Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 876 are still undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them,729 are taking treatment at 45 hospitals in Dhaka, and  157 outside the capital, the DGHS data said.

At least, 18,735 patients have recovered from the diseases. So far, 73 people have died of dengue this year.
