Decision on lockdown extension today

A high-level meeting is going to be held on the next steps including reviewing the restrictions of the pandemic Covid-19 situation.
It is learned a decision will be taken at the meeting whether the strict lockdown will be further extended or not.
The meeting will be held at the Secretariat on Tuesday at 1:30 pm under the chairmanship of the Home Minister.
Earlier, after the Cabinet meeting on Monday, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said, “We will hold a meeting on whether the restrictions will be increased or not. Then the decision will be taken.”
Strict restrictions have been imposed in the country since 8 am on July 23 to prevent Covid-19 infection. These restrictions will remain in place until midnight on 5 August.
