Decision on lockdown extension today

Whether the week-long lockdown in the country, which began on Monday (April 5), will be extended or not will be decided on Thursday, said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam.
Khandker Anwarul Islam told reporters at the secretariat after the virtual Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.
Asked whether the lockdown would be extended, the Cabinet Secretary said, “Let's see what happens after seven days.”
“We will review on Thursday In-sha-Allah. If everyone wears masks and follows the hygiene rules, then it should not be a problem.”
It is to be mentioned that a seven-day lockdown has started across the country from 6:00 am on April 5 and will continue till 12:00 am on April 11. The notification of lockdown was issued by the Cabinet Division on April 4.
According to the notification, all except emergency services will be closed from 6:00 am on April 5 to 12:00 am on April 11.
Meanwhile, offices are being opened on a limited-range for emergency work during the lockdown. Besides, all public transport in the metropolis was opened from Wednesday (April 7).
