Debut of 9th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Signals

Director General of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) Major General Md. Emdad-Ul-Bari has taken the office as 9th Colonel Commandant of Bangladesh Army.
He made his debut at a function organized by Signal Training Center and School (STC&S) at Jashore Cantonment on Wednesday. Inter Service Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) said these in a statement.
ISPR said, When arrived at the venue, a vigilante team from the Signals Corps provided a guard of honor to Major General Emdad ul Bari. Later, the 9th Colonel Commandant adorned the rank badge of ‘Colonel Commandant’ of Signal Corps by the Senior Commander and Master Warrant Officer of the Signals Corps. Colonel Commandant is a very glorious and dignified recognition according to the traditions and customs of the Army.
The newly appointed Colonel Commandant Major General Md. Emdad-Ul-Bari paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the beginning of his valuable address to the military members present at the ceremony, under whose leadership our great freedom struggle was initiated. At the same time, he recalled all the heroic freedom fighters including the heroic fighters of Signal Corps who sacrificed their lives in the liberation war in 1971. He emphasized on modern communication, communication security, development of information technology and research and directed all the members of Signal Corps to continue their relentless efforts to build a digital Bangladesh.
Area Commander, Jashore Area, Director of Army Signal Directorate, Commandant STC&S, Commanders and members of all units under Signals Corps and military officers of Jashore Area were present on the occasion among others.
Before serving as DG at Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS), Major General Md. Emdad-Ul-Bari was the Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
