The death warrant for Syed Mohammad Kaiser, former state minister and Jatiya Party (JPA) leader, has reached to the International Criminal Tribunal.

The warrant was sent to the International Criminal Tribunal on Thursday from the concerned branch of the Supreme Court.

Earlier, on January 14, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of Syed Mohammad Kaiser. A four-judge appellate bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain pronounced the verdict.

The International Criminal Tribunal sentenced Syed Mohammad Kaiser to death on January 23, 2014. He was sentenced to death on seven charges, life imprisonment on four, and a total of 22 years in prison on three.

Syed Mohammad Kaiser appealed against the verdict. The Appellate Division later upheld his death sentence.
