Death toll mounts to 29 in N’ganj mosque blast

Another person named Abdus Chatter has died in the taking the death toll to 29 in the AC blast in connection to the gas line explosion at the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the western part of Fatulla in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila.
So far 29 people out of 37 blast-injured, have died. And one lucky man has recovered and returned home in the incident. The rest seven are in the ICU. Their condition is also critical.
The 29th fatalist in the incident died while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday morning, said Perth Sankar Pal, a resident surgeon at the institute.
The blast took place at the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the western part of Fatullah on Friday night. Within moments, panic spread among about 50 people inside the mosque. They try to get out in a hurry. 37 of them were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. In this incident, a child named Jewel died for the first time around 12:30 am that day. The imam and muezzin of the mosque are also on the list of the dead.
